Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is all the rage. But long before CSR was a business buzzword, Willis Allen Real Estate was putting its principles into practice. Giving back to the community is a core value at Willis Allen - it has been since our company was founded more than 100 years ago. Throughout our history, Willis Allen leaders and sales staff have committed themselves to supporting the communities in which we live and work by volunteering our time, talents and treasures to hundreds of local non-profit groups across San Diego County.

On the GRID

Thanks to the generosity of Willis Allen and agents, the homes of 10 San Diego veterans now have solar panels. It was a partnership with GRID Alternatives San Diego and Habitat for Humanity. The program, dubbed “Operation: Solar for San Diego Troops,” aimed to reduce the cost of housing for veterans through solar power. Learn more at www.solarforsandiegotroops.com.

Military Matters

Willis Allen paid for 80% of our Coronado and Downtown Realtors to be certified Military Relocation Professionals (MRP). The National Association of Realtors designation ensures these Realtors are prepared to work with U.S. service members and veterans to help them find housing, while taking full advantage of available benefits and support. We Support Our Troops

In another show of support for local military families and veterans, Willis Allen Real Estate for the past five year has sponsored the “We Support the Troops” charity golf tournament in August at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. The money raised at this event benefits North County Warrior Support and Soldiers Who Salsa.

Arbor Day, Every Day

Since 2008 Willis Allen has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 15 trees for each escrow closed by a Willis Allen agent. To date, this effort has resulted in over 7,500 trees being planted up and down the coasts of California, Oregon and Washington.

Go Green

Willis Allen Real Estate sponsored 40 agents to be certified with the National Association of Realtor’s Green Designation. This additional training ensures these agents are well-versed in issues ranging from energy efficiency and sustainability to green building and more. Find a Green certified agent HERE.

Living Landscapes Matter

The California drought has caused some communities to encourage homeowners to rip out their lawns and deaden their landscapes with mulch, gravel, rocks and plastic turf. But the reality is a living yard offers a host of benefits – not just to the environment but to homeowners as well. Willis Allen has partnered with the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) to help our clients protect curb appeal, maintain and increase property values, and be environmentally-conscious by planting the right living landscapes for our climate.
